Franchon Crews-Dezurn will defend her IBF, WBA and WBO world super middleweight championship against Savannah Marshall on Saturday evening at AO Arena in Manchester, England in an action-packed battle for all four belts on offer.

Marshall may possess superior overall skills, yet she remains the underdog in this contest. Although Marshall boasts an impressive knockout percentage and knockout power, she is not as active or defensively conscious as Crews-Dezurn; thus she often gets drawn into brawls and lacks technical talent; Hartlepool fighter Marshall lacks punching power to compensate for these deficiencies and will struggle to win this bout on points alone.
Marshall may not be one of the more physically powerful or active fighters, but she does possess an exceptional fight IQ. She understands that she cannot fight in the same fashion against Shields which resulted in an emotional points defeat; instead she will aim to control the fight through movement and footwork while making her opponent miss instead of engaging them directly with punches.
In October 2022, Marshall faced off against Shields, whom she had beaten before in amateur competition. Her term as the WBO middleweight champion, which she had been holding since 2020, came to an end with the defeat.
