Janibek Alimkhanuly vs Danny Dignum: Predictions & Analysis 5/21/2022

Game Preview

Some great middleweight division action is coming for boxing fans this Saturday all the way from the capital of sports entertainment events in the world, Las Vegas as two of the toughest and best ranked contenders in the weight division will square off in the ring for a shot at the vacant WBO middleweight championship title. In a fight that promises to be an all-out thriller, English boxer Danny Dignum will face his biggest test to date as he goes up against Kazakh boxing star Janibek Alimkhanuly. While the title situation might still seem a bit sketchy, with the title holder, Demetrius Andrade not fully cemented as the full champion in the division, a win here for any of the two fighters means either being made into full champions or at least receiving a title fight against Andrade, so the action is fully guaranteed for Saturday night.

Fight Preview

Kazakh fighter Janibek Alimkhanuly, could easily be considered a legend slayer in his own ranks when it comes to his professional boxing career. With a solid 11-0 record with seven knockout wins under his belt, Janibek has shown everybody what a former amateur and Olympic fighter can do in the pros. But why legend slayer? In a first instance, the Kazakh fighter forced former world champion boxer Rob Brant to retire from professional fighting after pommeling him in a fight that lasted eight rounds. Apparently, that’s all that Janibek needed to get rid of Brant and it worked out just right for him.

But not to be outdone, in his last fight, Alimkhanuly, known as “Qazaq Style” in the boxing world, decided to take out yet another former world champion when he completely and utterly dominated his fight against Hasan N’Dam N’Jikam, who also saw the end of the road after eight rounds with the Kazakh. Now, with the chance of taking over the vacant WBO middleweight title and a chance of becoming full champion or stepping into the ring against Andrade, all signs point towards a clear path for a win for “Qazaq Style”.

Danny Dignum on the other hand, hailing from England has had a respectable record both as an amateur and a professional, holding a pro record of 14-0-1, with eight knockout wins. But no fight has ever been of as much caliber and importance as this one against Alimkhanuly. Seen as a “dream come true” for Dignum, the fighter out of Essex, it will be his first true 12-round bout in the pros, and after taking into account his level and experience, while he might put up a valiant effort, it’s not far fetched to say that if he lasts over six rounds with the Kazakh that will be more than plenty for him.
