Fight Preview
We are days away from the return of WBO middleweight champion Janibek ‘Qazaq Style’ Alimkhanuly taking on Steven ‘Big Bang’ Butler , who will headline a bill. Alimkhanuly looks to light the fire to attract some of the more prominent names or other champions at or around 160 pounds, with the middleweight division all but forgotten.
At one point, there was talk of the possibility of junior middleweight contender Charles Conwell moving up to fight Alimkhanuly, but those talks never materialized into anything significant. Although Alimkhanuly is the heavy favorite, Butler will be looking to grab the spotlight and present himself as one of the headliners in the middleweight division.
Let’s be completely honest, this is a showcase fight for Alimkhanuly, who is desperately looking for a big fight, but no one seems eager to get in there with him. Demetrius Andrade had a chance and he passed it up as well. Alimkhanuly is a big southpaw who moves well and has great punch placement.
Let’s check the latest picks, Boxing news, stats and Boxing expert picks for Janibek Alimkhanuly vs Steven Butler. We’ve plenty of Boxing predictions for you to consider.
Nobody wants to face him, and come Saturday night, Butler will know exactly why. I don’t see it being difficult for Alimkhanuly, as Butler is tailor-made for him. I see Alimkhanuly not having to think too hard, and he will wear Butler down to a standstill. Alimkhanuly won’t even have to resort to “Qazaq style”, as he shouldn’t have a problem with him.
Butler is a 27-year-old Canadian boxer who has shared the ring with some notable names like the now retired former WBA champion Ryota Murata and Mark DeLuca. Although he lost to Murata but beat DeLuca, it’s the experience he has that Alimkhanuly is looking for as he continues to build his resume.
The problem is that Butler won’t bring anything to the fight, as his style is pretty basic. He possesses some power, but Alimkhanuly is on another level. I don’t think he will get a chance to deliver the “Big Bang” as Alimkhanuly will put too much pressure.
