Murodjon Akhmadaliev of Uzbekistan, the unbeaten IBF and WBA Super Bantamweight Champion, will defend his titles against former Bantamweight Champion Marlon Tapales of the Philippines on Saturday, April 8th.
Akhmadaliev won the belts by split decision over Danny Roman in January 2020, then defended them by fifth-round stoppage over Ryosuke Iwasa in April 2021, and most recently stopped Ronny Rios in the 12th round in June. Tapales last fought in May, when he stopped Jose Estrella with a body shot in the second round.

Akhmadaliev had a successful amateur career, winning a bronze medal in the bantamweight division at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and a silver medal in the 2015 World Amateur Championships in Doha, Qatar, when he was defeated in the final by Michael Conlan of Ireland.
