Hugo Alberto Roldan Analysis: Looking to bounce back from a loss

Roldan, 31 (22-2-1, 7 KOs), already defeated former South American middleweight champion Lucas Bastida; former Argentine super lightweight champion Damian Yapur; former South American lightweight champion Sergio Gil; former Argentine welterweight champion Chaco Victor Hugo Velazquez and WBC super lightweight Latin champion Emiliano “Cobrita” Dominguez twice in his six-year career. Roldan was undefeated before coming to North America to fight, where he suffered his controversial 10-round decision losses to Joseph Adorno in September 2022 and, most recently, in September of last year to Batyrzhan Khukembayev. In between those two losses, Roldan returned to Argentina in February of last year to win the WBA Fedelatin welterweight championship with a 10-round unanimous decision over Jose Hugo Acevedo.

Michel Rivera Analysis: 2nd fight in new weight

Michel Rivera (25-1, 14 KOs), 26, rose to fame after a string of nationally televised victories over several then unbeaten or once-beaten foes, including Ladarius Miller (then 21-1), Jon Fernandez (then 21-1), Jose Matias Romero (then 24-1), Joseph Adorno (then 14-0-2) and Jerry Perez (then 14-1). Along the way, he captured the IBF-USBA and World Boxing Council (WBC) Continental lightweight championships of the Americas. Currently ranked #13 by the WBC, Rivera, who some say resembles a young Muhammad Ali, was last seen shaking off the only loss of his career by notching an impressive unanimous decision victory over former world champion Sergey Lipinets in November. With a 56.6% knockout percentage and the ability to finish 14 of his 26 opponents before the closing bell, Rivera has the power on his side of the table.
