Prediction and Analysis: Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk May 18, 2024

Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk Fight Preview

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk square battle in a much awaited boxing match on Saturday afternoon in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the winner becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion in almost 25 years. Find more articles like this for the most in-depth boxing analysis available.

Tyson Fury Analysis: He’s in better shape compared to his last fight

Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) informed the media earlier this week that he weighed 19 stone, or 266 pounds, when he arrived at the arena. That is roughly 12 pounds less than what he weighed when he faced Ngannou, a contest from which he only just managed to win. Despite Fury’s insistence that he trained hard for Ngannou, as the fight went on, he looked more worn out, uninterested, and out of condition than his opponent. At this moment, Fury weighs around the same as he did during his second and third battles with Wilder. He packed on approximately 10 pounds of lean muscle to add some power to his punches after weighing in at about 256 pounds for their first showdown.

Oleksandr Usyk Analysis: He’s faster and stronger than his rival

Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) is a two-time gold medallist in the Olympics and the former cruiserweight unification champion. If Oleksandr Usyk relies largely on his in-ring cunning, he can overcome Tyson Fury. The Ukrainian heavyweight can count on being quicker and smarter than the WBC Heavyweight Champion since he is the superior all-around boxer. In this manner, Fury is more vulnerable to being hit and wears down more quickly. The unbeaten Usyk is at the other corner. The IBF World Heavyweight championship, the IBO World Heavyweight title, the WBA Super World Heavyweight title, and the WBO World Heavyweight title are all held by the Ukrainian heavyweight.
