Teofimo Lopez vs Sandor Martin Predictions 12/10/2022

Game Preview

Fight Preview

Teofimo Lopez is ready to show his talent in Madison Square Garden. The former lightweight champion will battle against Sandor Martin on December 10.

Martin has replaced Jose Pedraza, who sadly tested positive for COVID-19. He made his pro debut all the way back in 2011. An EU junior welterweight champion, Martin currently owns an 11 fight win streak. His last match ended with a unanimous decision win over Jose Felix Jr. back in April.

This fight has an ulterior motive outside of the win itself as it may determine the next title contender for the junior welterweight division. Lopez is looking to grow himself past the competition, while Martin is ready to continue his momentum. This is a massive fight for both of them, as Martin is an incredibly tough replacement for Lopez’s original matchup, Jose Pedraza.

Martin has found his path back to the top of the junior welterweight division thanks to convincing wins against Joe Hughes, Mikey Garcia, and Jose Felix Jr. Martin hit 75 of 231 shots (32.5%), showing decent accuracy.

However Martin’s main asset is his footwork, and speed that ultimately becomes good defensive positioning.

Even though Martin is the up and coming superstar in the division, Lopez is a former champion.

Lopez showed his talents against Vasiliy Lomachenko, landing 183 of 659 shots (27.8%). While he had a better percentage against George Kambosos Jr. ( 31.2%), Lopez sadly struggled to find that stable raw power his fans love.

However Lopez was able to comeback against Pedro Campa, landing 136 of 321 shots ( 42.3%). Landing a huge total of 50 jabs, taking Campa out.

Martin can certainly start slow sometimes. If Lopez can take advantage of the early game by using his jabs and power shots, he can tire Martin in the early minutes.

This time around we will lean to a Lopez win.
