They still have to face Valencia, a team sitting much higher in the standings, although Espanyol was able to dominate Valencia the last time they played against each other.
The Espanyol team might take advantage of Alaves’ last disappointing result. Celta completely rolled over Alaves and finished the game with a 4-0 score in their favor. Not only Alaves got completely demolished, Ximo Navarro got a red card around the 64-minute mark. This game was very demoralizing for Velazquez’ side, and the timing can’t be worse as their most important matches are coming in the next few day.
