Relegation
While teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona are enjoying all of the La Liga glory, there are some teams at the bottom of the standings who are barely making the cut and will give their all to keep their spot in La Liga for the 2023-24 season.
Girona (+125)
Girona is one of the newly-promoted La Liga teams who would love to stay in the first division, unfortunately for them, the future isn’t looking that bright. They are the favorite team to make it all the way back to where they came from. If we are being completely honest, this team hasn’t done much during the off-season to prevent everyone from believing they are most likely falling down into the relegation zone.
Valladolid (+135)
Real Valladolid is the other team that just made their way into Spain’s first division, but just like Girona, they are probably going to be relegated without a doubt. While Valladolid fans heard some good news recently about Ivan Fresneda staying with the team, that won’t be enough for them to secure La Liga safety this season.
Elche (+150)
While this might be a bit surprising, Elche is the 3rd favorite team to fall into the relegation zone. Elche finished last season in mid-table 13th, looking pretty safe on the surface. Elche went unbeaten in three of their last home games, securing their status as La Liga leaders. But other than that, there aren’t many reasons to believe that Francisco’s side will be able to put up a good fight against the rest of the lower rated teams.
Cadiz (+175)
Last season, Cadiz was just 1 point away from falling down to 18th place, which means relegation zone, but they are on the safer side of this list. They have been looking quite decent in their pre-season games and they still have a couple left to play against Atletico Madrid and Sevilla. Taking that into consideration, if this team ends up slipping earlier on in the season, then we can’t act surprised if they end up in the bottom of the standings.
