Prediction and Analysis: Valencia vs Villarreal August 31, 2024

Valencia vs Villarreal Match Previews

The La Liga schedule for Saturday features Valencia CF versus Villarreal CF. Keep reading more articles like this to get the best La Liga analysis out there.

Villarreal Analysis: Hoping the new signings can gel quickly

With 7 points from their first three games this season, Villarreal has shown promise and is now sitting second in the rankings, two points behind leaders Barcelona. In their second game of the season on August 23, the Yellow Submarine defeated Sevilla 2-1 after opening the season with a 2-2 tie versus Atletico Madrid. On Monday, Marcelino’s team played Celta Vigo in a thrilling seven-goal match. At one point, it looked like a 3-3 draw would be enough to split the points, but Dani Parejo’s close-range penalty kick within the 10th minute of extra time at the conclusion of the 90 minutes gave the home team the victory. It must be considered a disappointment because Villarreal finished ninth in La Liga the previous year, and they will undoubtedly be searching for a way back into European football for the 2025–2026 season.

Valencia Analysis: Tough matches coming ahead

In the initial week of games of the new La Liga season, Valencia lost 2-1 at home to Barcelona. On August 23, they lost 3-1 at home to Celta Vigo in their second match of the season. With Benat Prados winning the match in the 45th minute, Ruben Baraja’s team’s season continued on Wednesday away to Athletic Bilbao. With three games played and 0 points, Valencia is currently bottom of the standings ahead of their matchup with Villarreal. Luis Rioja, Dani Gomez, Stole Dimitrievski, and Rafa Mir are the four new players Los Che has managed to get in this summer. Giorgi Mamardashvili, meanwhile, will be staying on loan with the team for the 2024–25 season even though his transfer to Liverpool was only finalized.
