Game Preview

Back on March 30, in Cincinnati, these clubs faced off against one another to start the year. Pittsburgh managed to win on the first day, but the Reds went on to win the following two games. Luke Weaver and Roansy Contreras will be the starters for Thursday’s game.

The Reds did manage to win a game despite losing the series against the Tampa Bay Rays. Kevin Newman finished the series 4-12 with a home run and two RBI. T.J. Friedl finished the series with a 3-9 record, a double, and four RBI. When Hunter Greene threw three scoreless innings in game one, Cincinnati won. The final six innings were completed by the bullpen, who allowed just one run on five hits.

Cincinnati has a total five home runs in the two games this season where they have defeated the Pirates. The ball flies in Cincinnati, where those games were played, but Pittsburgh will play host this time. The hitters are not as welcome at PNC Park. The Cincinnati Reds anticipate Pirate pitching well, but they will need to put some serious force into the ball to get it out. The Reds must keep up at the plate as the Pirates’ offense has been on a roll recently.
Let’s check the latest MLB news, stats and MLB expert picks for Reds vs Pirates. We’ve plenty of MLB Predictions for you to consider.

Although they are off to an unexpected start, they do not appear to be slowing down. For the Reds, Luke Weaver is playing in his first game of the year.
