There’s a new team heading to Kansas City to open the baseball season. Actually not a new team, one from Cleveland that has a different nickname. The Cleveland Guardians will make their debut on Thursday against the Royals at Kauffman Stadium. We won’t go into the history of the nickname change because there is no reason to bring up the previous one.
Game Preview
As for the game, Shane Bieber will face Zack Geinke, who returns to the Kansas City Royals for the first time since 2010. Greinke was 60-67 as a Royal pitcher for seven seasons. Bieber was 7-54 last season but in four years in the American League with Cleveland is an astounding 41-18.
