Today, after getting swept by the New York Yankees, the 10-game road trip for the New York Mets finally comes to an end with the team returning to Citi Field to take on the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies split even in a two-game meeting with the Texas Rangers, including a 16-4 blowout loss in the finale. They’ll try to get a game back in the win column as the season is coming to an end very soon.
For the Rockies, it’s usually offense-or-bust. The New York Mets reply back with Jacob DeGrom who is still settling into things since returning to the mound, making his 5th start of the season. The 34-year-old carries a 2-1 record with a 2.31 ERA and a 0.51 WHIP over 23.1 innings pitched while striking out 37.
