The Angels are going with a different approach this game, sending out 23-year-old rookie Reid Detmers to the mound.
He is carrying a 2-3 record with a 4.22 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP over 64 innings pitched while striking out 51 across 13 starts. Detmers had a very good outing recently against the Baltimore Orioles, throwing 6 scoreless frames, allowing 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 7.
This is a mismatch for the Los Angeles Angels in almost every facet against one of the World Series favorites, especially because they won’t have their superstar player Shohei Ohtani on the mound as he granted them a victory yesterday.
