Kansas City Royals vs Chicago White Sox: Odds & Analysis 4/27/2022

April 27, 2022

If you’ve been keeping count of the notorious slump that the Chicago White Sox are going through, then sadly, if you’re a White Sox fan, after last night’s loss to Kansas City by 6-0, it’s time to put one more loss under Chicago’s already reeling losing streak which now amounts to eight straight games.

Today, as the White Sox and Royals gear up for their second game of the series, the question here is, will Kansas City’s RHP Zack Greinke continue to lift the Royals over the White Sox or will RHP Dylan Cease be the savior for what’s starting to feel like an actual baseball crisis for Chicago?

Game Preview

The Chicago White Sox look and feel more and more like a team that is either one or two losses away from officially hitting the panic button on their season. After having won just 2 of their last 10 games, including the eight-game losing streak that they are riding on right now, this honestly does not feel at all like the White Sox team that baseball fans got overly excited with last season.

The idea and glimmering hopes of Chicago sweeping through their division once again this year is dissipating more and more as time continues and even if they have the players to get the job done, it almost feels like they don’t really know how to even start to tackle it.

After last night’s 6-0 defeat against the Royals which once again showed fans and experts where some of Chicago’s biggest deficiencies are, too many errors on defense, not enough power pitching and lackluster hitting, it will be starter’s Dylan Cease’s turn to try and revert this and from how his numbers read this season, Cease might just be the best person for the job, at least from Chicago’s mound.

On a more positive note, the Kansas City Royals won, they won in a very convincing fashion and have now officially entered the conversation for taking a place up in the AL Central’s top standings. Just like the Guardians, who are at second place of the division, only two games separate Kansas City and Cleveland from Minnesota for the divisional lead, which means that if Kansas City plays its cards right, they could be looking at taking over the division sooner rather than later. This is why the Royals will be counting not only on their offense to come through for them once again today but also for veteran ace Zack Greinke to pull out all of his best material in order to score a very important win against Chicago.
