Game Preview

On Tuesday night, the Minnesota Twins and the Miami Marlins will play the second game of their inter-league series in Miami. The Twins started the season strong, winning all three games against the Royals on the road, while the Marlins struggled, losing three out of four to the Mets. The game will feature a pitching matchup between Kenta Maeda, a right-hander for the Twins, and Sandy Alcantara, the 2022 Cy Young winner and right-hander for the Marlins. Maeda had a 6-5 record and a 4.66 ERA in 2022, while Alcantara is making his second start of the season after going 0-0 with a 4.76 ERA. The game is set to start at 6:40 PM EST.

The Twins had a good start to the 2022 season but faltered in the second half due to injuries and missed the playoffs. They made some changes in the offseason, adding depth to their starting rotation by trading Luis Arraez to Miami for Pablo Lopez. They also signed Carlos Correa and added other players such as Christian Vazquez, Joey Gallo, and Kyle Farmer. The Twins won their first three games of the season against the Royals, with Gallo hitting two home runs on Sunday and Kepler hitting a home run on Monday. Maeda will start for the Twins on Tuesday.
