New York Yankees vs Toronto Blue Jays: Odds & Preview 5/03/2022

May 3, 2022

We said that this series had all the components to be a perfect preview of a postseason thriller yesterday and after the first game in which the New York Yankees extended their winning streak to 10 games after a hard fought 3-2 win over Toronto, it feels like game two of the series slated to go down today will only be better than yesterday and probably even not better than tomorrow. With the idea of making their winning streak reach 11 the Yankees will be sending RHP Jameson Taillon, who will surely have his hands full against a Blue Jays offense who don’t wish to allow the Yankees to win again today. For Toronto it will be their one of their star aces Alek Manoah, who at 4 wins in the season with zero losses, will be looking to add one more W to his record.

Game Preview

The Yankees seem like they are unstoppable. While at first everyone thought that their series in Toronto against the Blue Jays would serve as the perfect test to truly see how good this team is, the Yankees thrived and won the first game of the series by a hard fought 3-2, with the game being decided in the final instances of the game. While their starting pitching last night wasn’t necessarily at it’s finest, their bullpen and offense came through at the best times to secure the win for New York, which only goes to prove that this team has enough depth to go all season without breaking a sweat when they are playing as hot as they are right now.

Of course, facing a Blue Jays team whose main mission right now is to topple New York and take back the lead in the AL East division will be tough which is why the Yankees will be relying heavily on what pitcher Jameson Taillon can do from the mound along with their offense in order to hold Toronto back at least one more game.

For the Blue Jays, they tasted the win last night, but weren’t able to come through at the end, with faulty at bats causing them what could’ve been a very important divisional win against their main rivals in the AL East. But today is a new day and with George Springer, Bo Bichette and company all ready to take the series back, there’s no better time for Toronto to send one of their star pitchers Alex Manoah to the mound to try and shut down a rather impressive Yankees offense today. If Manoah gets going early and the offense backs him up, it will be very hard for New York to make it to eleven straight wins today.
