Today we’ll have a very exciting matchup between the Tampa Bay Rays and the New York Yankees. The thing is that the Tampa Bay Rays won’t have it easy as the pitching matchup against the Yankees will be a very close one.
Nestor Cortes Jr. will be opening things up for the New York Yankees, making this his 12th start of the season so far. The Yankees pitcher is carrying a 5-2 record with a 1.96 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP over 64.1 innings pitched.
He was last seen on the mound against the Minnesota Twins, when he picked up his 2nd loss after pitching 4.1 innings and giving away 4 runs on 7 hits while striking out only 3 of the Twins batters.
Considering that McClanahan put up an amazing performance in his last outing and Nestor Cortes didn’t look too hot, we can expect a very interesting matchup in today’s game.
