Game Preview

The Toronto Blue Jays who are sitting on a 38-28 record and are heading to Guaranteed Rate Field to start their 3-game series against the Chicago White Sox. The Blue Jays prevented getting swept by the New York Yankees on Sunday with an exciting 10-9 comeback victory, picking up their 5th win in their last 10 games.

On the other hand, the White Sox lost their 3-game series versus the Houston Astros with a total aggregate of 17-13. They are also 5-5 in their last 10 games, but the Blue Jays swept the White Sox in a 3-game set a few weeks ago and Toronto outscored Chicago 21-11 in those encounters.

Lance Lynn will be making his 2nd start of the season for the Chicago White Sox. The 35-year-old righty allowed 3 runs on 10 hits while striking out 4 in 4.1 innings against the Detroit Tigers. Last year, he logged a 2.69 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP over 157 innings, so we can still expect a lot of good things from him this season.

To open things up, the Toronto Blue Jays will send out Jose Berrios as their starting pitcher, making this his 14th start of the season. Berrios holds a 5-2 record with a 4.65 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP over 71.2 innings pitched.

The 28-year-old pitcher didn’t factor in the decision on Wednesday in their game against the Baltimore Orioles. He allowed 3 runs on 3 hits and struck out 8 across 7 innings in his last appearance, and 2 of those hits were home runs. Even though his last outing wasn’t his best of the season, the Toronto Blue Jays can still fully trust him as he is one of the best pitchers in their lineup.
