2022 Wimbledon Contenders: Analysis & Predictions 6/17/2022

June 17, 2022

The third Grand Slam event of the tennis season is coming up at the All-England Club as the grass courts will test many of the best players in the world at Wimbledon.

The fortnight will bridge the end of June and beginning of July and one player to keep an eye on in the women’s draw is Iga Swiatek.

She was dominant in winning the French Open on clay and has been storming past every opponent in her way. Swiatek is listed at +150 at BetUS.

Of course, American’s will hope Serena Williams earns an eighth title and 24th overall Grand Slam as she returns to the court after being away due to injury. Serena Williams is +1400 on the BetUS tennis odds.

Williams bowed out of Wimbledon last year early when injured and hopes for a better, vintage performance.

Other women given a chance to capture the major are Naomi Osaka, Emma Rudacanu and Coco Gauff.

The men’s side features three players who have been the center of attention through the tennis year. Novak Djokovic is the prohibitive favorite at -125 on BetUS. Those are strong odds for the Serb to take another WImbledon crown.

Rafael Nadal is listed at +600, Matteo Berretini (+700) and Carlos Alcaraz at +500. It will be interesting to see how Alcaraz does on grass after he saw a winning streak end before the later stages of the French Open.
