US Open Preview

The 2022 U.S. Open is set to take place on Aug. 29, 2022. The event is held annually at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York, New York and it has been chronologically the fourth and final Grand Slam tournament of the year. Let’s take a look at the US Open odds, with familiar faces on top of the board for another major.
For yet another Grand Slam, Novak Djokovic (+150) is slotted in at the top of the odds board for the US Open. Djokovic will be coming off a Wimbledon championship run, the seventh of his career. Djokovic is favored to win his fourth US Open title, and his first since 2018. However, it’s important to note that Djokovic remains unvaccinated and under current regulations, will not be eligible to play in the U.S. unless he’s given some form of exemption.
The player with the second-highest odds is Daniil Medvedev (+225), who will have a fresh set of legs after being forced to sit out of Wimbledon due to circumstances out of his control. Last year’s US Open champion will look to repeat, and fight off some tough competition. Right below Medvedev we can find Carlos Alcaraz (+350), the 19-year-old prodigy, who will once again be in the mix for his first Grand Slam title.
One of the most exciting players to watch is the 22-time major champion Rafael Nadal (+450), who is making an appearance at the US Open, though with him being kicked out of Cincinnati in the first round, it’s unsure whether Nadal will be in the best form to win a Grand Slam. Nadal will be the No. 2 seed behind world No. 1 and defending champion Daniil Medvedev. If the Spaniard were to win the Open, he could stretch his major lead over Djokovic to 23-21.
