Game Preview

On Friday evening, the Atlanta Hawks and the Brooklyn Nets will square off in an Eastern Conference matchup. Atlanta has won two of its last three games, including a 120-118 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday. Similarly, Brooklyn has won two of the last three games.

Atlanta finished the season with a 38-38 record, good for eighth place in the Eastern Conference. A rough December can be cited as a disappointing performance. Quin Snyder, Atlanta’s third head coach this season, has been signed to a long-term contract.

Trae Young is an established NBA superstar, topping the Hawks with 26.5 points and 10.0 assists per game. This would be Young’s fourth consecutive season with at least 25 points per game, but his first season-long double-double.

Let’s check the latest picks, NBA news, stats and NBA expert picks for Hawks vs Nets. We’ve plenty of NBA predictions for you to consider.

Dejounte Murray leads the squad with 20.5 points and 6.1 assists per game, as well as 1.5 steals per game. Murray has a 45.8 percent field goal percentage. Clint Capela, the Hawks’ leading rebounder, is the second player in the league to record a double-double, averaging 12.1 points and 11.2 rebounds per game. Capela does not fire frequently, but he has a 65.1 percent success rate.

Despite losing their stars, Brooklyn is still in contention, with a 41-35 record sufficient for sixth place in the Eastern Conference. Because of the new play-in tournament for seeds 7-10, the sixth place in the standings is significant.

Surprisingly, the Nets were able to restock with skilled role players such as Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, and Jae Crowder. Bridges has performed admirably since his acquisition, scoring 26.8 points on 49.5 percent shooting in 21 games.

Dinwiddie leads the team with 8.4 assists per game and is second on the squad with 17.2 points per game. Since being purchased, Cam Johnson has averaged 16.7 points per game. Clearly, the Nets did well to recoup their investment. Nic Claxton, who averages 12.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per game, is the finest holdover from the previous roster.
