The Chicago Bulls are back in action when they face New Orleans on the road. The Pelicans beat Memphis last night 113-102 as the favorites. The Bulls’ last game took place on Sunday where they were crushed at home by Denver 126-103. These teams met on Nov. 9 with the Pelicans beating Chicago 115-111 on the road.
Chicago has played well at times this season, but injuries and inconsistency are starting to take their toll. The Bulls come into this game having lost two straight and four of their last five. They hope to get Lonzo Ball back by late December. His ability to defend and distribute is certainly missed.
In Chicago’s loss on Sunday night, they just never got it going as the Nuggets led 32-20 after the first quarter and never trailed again. Zach LaVine led the Bulls with 21 points, while star guard DeMar DeRozan was held to 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting. This was an overall disappointing performance by Chicago, considering the fact that Denver had been on the road for awhile.
Now looking at the Pelicans, everytime they take on Memphis, the games are usually special. You have Ja Morant taking on Zion Williamson as two explosive young players. But Williamson missed the game as did Desmond Bane for the Grizzlies. Yet, New Orleans was still able to win pretty handily, thanks to their defense, which held Memphis to just 15 fourth-quarter points in the 11-point win.
New Orleans shot 47% from the field and 47% (18-38) from beyond the arc. Meanwhile, Williamson has played just 11 games and is the leading scorer with 23.6 points per game and the second-leading rebounder at 6.4 per game. Ingram adds 21.2 points and 5.6 rebounds, while McCollum is third in scoring at 18.7 points on just 39.8% shooting.
