The hottest team in the NBA, the Brooklyn Nets, is looking to pick up its 7th straight victory when they play host to the Golden State Warriors. The Nets are 19-12 this season so far, while the Warriors are 15-17. Last season, Golden State scored the win in both of the encounters between these two teams, but things might be different this time around, so let’s find out if the Nets can keep it rolling.
The Golden State Warriors continue on their tour of New York City as they’ll face the Nets. Recently, they visited Manhattan to face off against the New York Knicks and it wasn’t pretty to look at, to say the least. The Knicks completely dominated the Warriors 132-94. We could say that this game was probably the champs’ worst performance of the season so far.
They are now sitting in 11th place in the Western Conference, though they are only 5 games behind the leaders Grizzlies. The Warriors have to deal with a lot of injuries, primarily the ones to Andrew Wiggins and Steph Curry, both of whom won’t be seen on the court until January. Jordan Poole rallied the Warriors in the defeat, scoring 26 points while Jonathan Kuminga contributed 13 of his own.
The Brooklyn Nets have had a lot of drama at the start of the season and it showed in a weird start. Well, we could say that the drama is now behind them, at least for the moment and the Nets are playing great basketball. They have now won 6 straight matches and 10 of their last 11 games. Their only defeat in that stretch was against the then-top team in the conference, the Boston Celtics.
In their most recent victory Sunday, Brooklyn held off Detroit to a 124-121 scoreline. The Nets shot 55% and made 15 of 29 from 3-point range. The Nets big two carried the team as Kevin Durant picked up 43 points while Kyrie Irving contributed 38 points with 5 three-pointers.
