Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets: Analysis & Odds 4/21/2022

Game Preview

Can you imagine a healthy Stephen Curry starting an NBA Playoffs game on the bench? Well, that’s exactly what happened last Monday in Game 2 of the Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets first-round series.

Even so, Curry finished as the top scorer of the night thanks to its 34 points. He was followed by Jordan Poole (29), precisely the one who took his place in the starting lineup. Curry, Poole, and Klay Thompson (21) making it rain from all over the floor seems like a cheat code from a video game.

As for the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic was the only one who scored 20+ points. The current MVP shot for 45 percent while adding 11 rebounds. Clearly, he needs more help, especially from Aaron Gordon (seven points). We didn’t forget about Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr., the thing is that both are out indefinitely.

At the end, Golden State won by 20 points (126-106). Therefore, they’ll visit the Rocky Mountains with a 2-0 advantage.

Curiously enough, for head coach Michael Malone, returning home it’s no guarantee that things will change.

“I imagine this place is going to be half-filled with Warriors fans. Every time we play them that seems to be the case. But it is great to be home,” Malone said. Well, it doesn’t sound like that, not at all!

As if that wasn’t enough, Andre Iguodala (neck) is expected to return for the Warriors after missing Game 2. Iguodala coming back is one of the reasons for Golden State to come in as the betting online favorite. Only by 2½ points, but still. Plus, the Warriors are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games when playing on the road against Denver.

“We’ve got to figure it out, because getting swept again, not a good look for anybody, and it’s embarrassing,” sentenced Monte Morris of the Nuggets.
