Game Preview

Golden State and Phoenix continue their four-game regular-season series with Game 2, and the Suns open as slight home favorites. Back in October, Phoenix dismantled Golden State 134-105 as a 1.5-point home fave with a total of 227.5 points.

The Golden State Warriors (6-8; 5-9 ATS) are off to a shaky start to the 2022-23 season. The reigning NBA champions have won three of their last four contests, but they are still below a .500-mark. Also, the Dubs have gone 0-7 straight-up and 1-6 ATS in seven showings on the road this season.

Golden State is coming off a 132-95 thrashing of the San Antonio Spurs this past Monday. The Dubs shot 53.4% from the field and 51.1% from beyond the arc (23-for-45) while handing out 35 assists and turning the ball over only 13 times.

Klay Thompson sat out Monday’s clash due to a right Achilles injury management. He’ll return to the starting lineup Wednesday in Phoenix. The Warriors are still without Andre Iguodala (hip), while Patrick Baldwin is questionable to play against the Suns due to a back injury.

The Phoenix Suns (8-5; 8-5 ATS) closed down their four-game road trip last Monday, suffering a tough 113-112 loss at the Miami Heat. After a surprising 114-97 defeat at the lowly Orlando Magic, the Suns nearly upset the Heat as 2.5-point underdogs, blowing a 13-point fourth-quarter lead. Chris Paul has missed the last three games due to a heel injury. He’s listed as questionable for Wednesday’s clash against Golden State.

Stephen Curry has been unstoppable so far this season, notching 31.5 points per game on 52.3% shooting from the field and 43.3% from beyond the arc. Jordan Poole will look to keep the good times rolling after a 36-point display against San Antonio, so the Warriors certainly have enough weapons to keep it close this time around.
