The struggling Houston Rockets begin a four-game road trip today as they take on the Sacramento Kings in a Western Conference matchup at Sacramento, California’s Golden 1 Center. The Kings, who are now in fifth place in the conference, will be going for their third straight victory over the Rockets when they face Houston for the first time this season.

This past Sunday, the Houston Rockets’ losing streak reached seven games. They lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves 104-96 at home, failing to cover the spread after blowing a sizable 20-point first-half lead. The Rockets concluded the game with a 42.7 FG%, a 26/20 assist-to-turnover ratio, and just 34 points scored in the second half.

Kevin Porter Jr. led his team, who scored 25 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Meanwhile, Kenyon Martin Jr. contributed with 12 points and five rebounds, and Alperen Sengun picked up 18 points and 8 boards. In its last 13 games overall, Houston has only managed one victory. They also have the poorest record in the NBA, and their adjusted offensive efficiency places them 29th in the league.

The Sacramento Kings, on the other hand, are still playing their five home games. After a pair of disappointing defeats to the Hawks 120-117 and the Lakers 136-134, the Kings dominated the Orlando Magic with a 136-111 win on Monday as the favorites. Sacramento outperformed Orlando throughout the whole game, making 53.6% of its field goals and dishing out an astounding 39 assists.

The Kings were led by Harrison Barnes, who scored a season-high 30 points on 11 of 13 field goal attempts. Trey Lyles and Kevin Huerter both picked up 14 points of their own, and at the same time, Keegan Murray contributed with 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc.
