The 2022-23 NBA season is going on with a huge 13-game slate on the very last day of November. Indiana and Sacramento will face off for the first time in the 2022-23 campaign. Last season, they ended up splitting a two-game set, and each team emerged victorious while playing on the road.
The Indiana Pacers will continue their five-game west-coast road trip. After a 114-100 loss against the Los Angeles Clippers this past Sunday, Indiana outlasted the Lakers 116-115 as the underdogs on the second day of a back-to-back set. The Pacers erased a 17-point fourth-quarter deficit against them, while rookie Andrew Nembhard hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give his team an epic victory.
Nembhard closed out the Lakers game with 12 points, four rebounds, and a couple of blocks under his belt. Meanwhile, Tyrese Haliburton led the way for the Pacers with a double-double of 24 points and 14 assists. Right next to him, Bennedict Mathurin added 23 points off the bench, while Myles Turner scored 15 points, 13 boards, four assists, and three blocks.
On the other hand, the Sacramento Kings extended their losing streak to three games, suffering a 122-117 loss to the Phoenix Suns. After snapping their seven-game winning streak with a 115-106 defeat against the Atlanta Hawks, the Kings now have allowed 122 points in two straight contests. Last Friday, they got demolished by the Boston Celtics 122-104.
Sacramento was listed as the slight favorites for the Suns game. The Kings failed to deal with Devin Booker, who closed the game with 44 points on 17-for-28 shooting from the field. The Kings made 52.3% of their field shots and outscored Phoenix 64-58 in the paint, but that wasn’t enough. De’Aaron Fox had a really bad day at the office, tallying 11 points and a minus-16 net rating.
