After taking down Orlando, the Los Angeles Lakers will try to build on their victory when they clash against the Miami Heat on Wednesday night. The Lakers managed to end a four-game losing streak with their 129-110 win over the Magic in what was the second game of a five-game road trip. Just like the Lakers, the Heat will try to keep the momentum going as they are coming off a 113-110 win over the Timberwolves.
Let’s be honest, the Lakers have been looking really questionable since their star Anthony Davis went down with an injury, but a huge win over Orlando last night gives them a good indicator on how they can pull off a win tonight. After yesterday’s game, the sudden emergence of Thomas Bryant might give LA the hope they needed heading into this game against Miami.
Sure, Bryant’s numbers might not look that great as he is averaging only 10.9 PPG and 5.5 RPG so far this season, however, yesterday’s match was a completely different story. He was fully unleashed, scoring 21 points and pulling off 10 rebounds in the victory. He looked great throughout the entire game and he might be able to make a difference against the Heat.
Now looking at the other side of the matchup, Miami might be lacking some firepower tonight, as two of their most impactful players, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, are listed as questionable. That said, the Heat were without them on Monday night and still managed to take over their encounter against Minnesota.
In their most recent victory over Minnesota, the breakout player was center Orlando Robinson. The big man replaced Adebayo and performed admirably, and on top of that, we can’t forget that the Lakers are very weak with Anthony Davis hurt, which means that Robinson might have a big night if Adebayo is missing again.
