Game Preview

Al Horford got mad and led the Boston Celtics to a 116-108 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. That result allowed the Celtics to regain home-court advantage.

The veteran forward finished with 30 points (postseason career high) and eight rebounds. Jayson Tatum added another 30 points, while Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart contributed 18 points each.

“I was just really locked in (Game 4). I understood the moment and what we needed to do as a group. Just come out and we were gonna do whatever it took. It was one of those types of nights,” Horford explained.

As for the Bucks, no surprises. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with 34 points and 18 rebounds. Jrue Holiday followed him with 16 points. George Hill, who was playing his second game in the postseason, played for 23 minutes, and added five points, two assists and one rebound. He can do a lot better.

Now, the series returns to the TD Garden, where the Celtics own a 31-14 record. As expected, Boston is the NBA betting favorite by 5½ points. The Celtics are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games when playing at home against Milwaukee.

The home side hopes for center Robert Williams to return. He remains questionable due to a knee injury but looks like a game-time decision. Regarding the Bucks, who are 27-18 when playing on the road, Khris Middleton remains out.

Milwaukee won Game 1 at TD Garden 101-89, while Boston won Game 2 109-86. The total for Game 5 is set at 214½ points. Keep in mind that the total has gone over in nine of Boston’s last 13 games against Milwaukee. In other words, expect a back-and-forth battle.

No matter what happens, the series will return to Milwaukee for Game 6, which is scheduled for Friday night.
