Game Preview

The Minnesota Timberwolves keep hitting the road as they continue their five-game road trip to clash against the Los Angeles Clippers in a Western Conference showdown at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. This is the very first time that Minnesota and LA are locking horns this season, making this one a very interesting game to watch.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are heading into this encounter after a two-game set at Moda Center in Portland. They’ve had a few disappointing moments as they suffered a couple of losses to the Trail Blazers, 124-118 and 133-112, while also failing to cover the spread on both matches.

On Monday, Minnesota got demolished by the Blazers, a team that shot 53.9% from the field and 45.7% from the three-point range. Meanwhile, Minnesota made 49.5% of its field goals and 37.0% of its three-pointers, all of this while surprisingly missing 9 of its 19 free-throw attempts and allowing a whopping 24 fast-break points.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers took down the league-leading Boston Celtics 113-93 on Monday. It was their second straight win and the third out of their last five games. LA held the Celtics to a decent 43.4% shooting from the field and 23.1% from beyond the arc, allowing only 46 points during the second half. The Clippers went 10-for-25 at the three-point line and greatly outrebounded Boston by 46-36.

It’s impossible to not talk about Kawhi Leonard, who led the charge for Los Angeles with 25 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and posted a plus-23 net rating, which is nothing to scoff at. Meanwhile, Paul George picked up 26 points on 8-for-22 shooting, while Kawhi missed just 2 of his 12 shots from the field. Also, Marcus Morris had 13 points of his own, while Luke Kennard scored 12 points right off the bench.
