Orlando Magic vs Toronto Raptors: Picks & Predictions 2/14/2023

Game Preview

On Tuesday, the Orlando Magic will travel to Toronto to wrap out a road back-to-back set. At Scotiabank Arena, the Raptors, who have won four of their previous five games, will play the Magic. After a sluggish start to the season, Orlando is looking to build on an encouraging 2022–23 run as the Raptors are 27–31 overall and 17–31 at home. Due to the back-to-back games, the Magic’s injury report is questionable, although Cole Anthony was out on Monday. Meanwhile, for the Raptors, OG Anunoby and Otto Porter Jr. are out.

As they allow the fifth-fewest points in the paint per game, the Magic are particularly strong in the low post. The Magic also have outstanding three-point defense, allowing the third-lowest three-point percentage in the NBA. Orlando has trouble scoring consistently on offense, but they are excellent at getting to the foul line as they average the fifth-most free throws per game.

Markelle Fultz, a former first-overall pick, is the Magic’s X-factor tonight. Fultz’s career has been revived in Orlando as a result of his tremendously productive campaign. He is now playing some of his best basketball of the season and was one assist away from a triple-double last night. This season, Toronto has had trouble handling athletic guards, giving Fultz a good chance to have a strong night.

Let’s check the latest picks, NBA news, stats and NBA expert picks for Magic vs Raptors. We’ve plenty of NBA predictions for you to consider.

Toronto decided not to cause a scene at the trade deadline by staying put. Now they are currently in ninth place and have played their way back into the postseason picture, so it appears to be working. The Raptors have the 11th-best defense in the NBA, giving up just 112.4 points per game. The Raptors are excellent at handling the ball and running the fast break on the offensive end.

Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet, the dynamic tandem that leads the Raptors, are in charge. While both players have been reliable throughout the season, they have been particularly threatening in recent games. Siakam averaged 28.4 PPG, 6.4 RPG, and 5.2 APG over his previous five games. The 6’8″ forward has dominated the Magic this year, scoring 27.0 points per game, dishing out 8.0 assists per game, and grabbing 7.7 rebounds per game in three prior meetings with Orlando.
