Game Preview

Finally! That’s what all Philadelphia 76ers fans said after Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Miami Heat. Finally! Because for the first time in the current NBA Playoffs, James Harden scored more than 25 points. The Beard led the way to a 116-108 victory with 31 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. That’s vintage Harden.

Joel Embiid, who’s playing through the pain, added 24 points and 11 rebounds. Tyrese Maxey, who completes Philly’s big-three finished with 18 points. DeAndre Jordan, who replaced Embiid in the first two games of the series, didn’t play.

As for Miami, Jimmy Butler scored 40 points, while center Bam Adebayo added 21. Embiid has done a much better work guarding him, especially when it comes to rebounding. Adebayo grabbed 21 rebounds (total) in the first two games. He only grabbed three in Game 3 and seven in Game 4.

“We’re getting more confident as the series goes on. Those first two games were a blur. But obviously, having Joel and having our full team, we kind of know what to expect. We know where to execute on both sides of the ball,” Harden said.

Tonight, the series (2-2) moves back to FTX Arena, where Miami owns a 34-12 record. The Heat come in as the NBA betting favorites by three points (-110), -155 on the Moneyline. Philly only won one of its last eight games in Miami.

After missing the first two games, veteran Kyle Lowry returned to Miami’s starting lineup after Game 2. However, he doesn’t appear to be fully recovered. As if that wasn’t enough, reserve center Dewayne Dedmon (illness) is questionable. Dedmon’s presence isn’t crucial, but without him it could be a very long night for Adebayo.

The visiting side doesn’t have any major injuries concerns. Isaiah Joe is the only one listed as questionable.
