Toronto Raptors vs Oklahoma City Thunder: Analysis & Predictions 11/11/2022

Game Preview

In this youth-filled battle on the NBA court, both teams are in search of a victory to push themselves to better standings. The Toronto Raptors are on the road as they fly to face the Oklahoma City Thunder Friday night.

Toronto won for the 4th time in six games as they bounced back from a tough loss against Chicago on the road. The Raptors entered Thursday 7-5 on the season and placed 2nd in the Atlantic Division.

On the season, Toronto stands 16th in scoring offense as they put up an average of 112.3 points per game. The Raptors are 17th in rebounding with 43.8 boards a night while in transition they are 21st by putting up an average of 24.1 assists per bout. Toronto does have a strong tall scoring trio in Scottie Barnes (14.2 points, 6.7 rebounds), Gary Trent Jr. (17.8 points) and Precious Achiuwa (10.7 points, 7.3 rebounds) who are showing to be solid offensive options this season. Pascal Siakam is the key focus for the Raptors, as he contributes a team-leading 24.8 points, 9.3 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game. However sadly for fans, Siakam suffered an adductor strain against the Mavericks on November 4th and will be reevaluated in two weeks.

Oklahoma City battled every second on the clock against a Milwaukee team that rested Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday, but sadly still ended up falling short in a really close match. The Thunder fell to 4-7 on the season with their 4th straight defeat and are in the botton of the Northwest Division, five games behind the Jazz who are at the top of the table.

This season, the Thunder are 17th in the league in scoring offense as they average 111.7 points per game on the year. Luguentz Dort is the most reliable secondary scoring option with 12.6 points per game for Thunder, thanks to his hustle attitude in every play. The Thunder are looking to get more points from the likes of Josh Giddey (13.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, five assists) and Tre Mann (11.6 points) who are other secondary scoring options.

Chet Holmgren, selected with the second pick in the latest NBA Draft, will miss the season after undergoing surgery due to a Lisfranc injury.

This time around we will give the advantage to the stable Raptors, as Oklahoma simply didn’t show enough quality in the last couple of games due to the lack of depth and quality within the squad. If Oklahoma wants any possible chance to take this win home, Shai Gilgeous Alexander will need to put up incredible numbers, however seems rather unlikely.
