The Miami Heat are extremely happy to finally have PG Kyle Lowry back from the injured list, giving them a much needed member for Monday’s game against the visiting Utah Jazz.
Lowry has not played since February 2nd due to a left knee injury, only appearing 36 minutes off the bench in Miami’s loss in overtime versus the Orlando Magic 126-114. Lowry recorded 12 points, 4 assists and 2 steals in his first appearance since recovery.
The Heat have lost 4 out of their last 7 games, even after an incredible display on Saturday from Jimmy Butler, who scored a season-high 38 points. Monday will be Miami’s first match versus Utah since the Heat beat them 126-123 around New Year’s Eve.
But while the Heat are sitting 22-13 at home and place 7th in the race for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, the Jazz are rebuilding out West with positive results. Utah, after being 13-22 on the road this season, entered Sunday at 10th place of the Western Conference, which would put them in the play-in round.
It has been an impressive showing for Utah this season, with a rookie coach in Will Hardy and a rebuilt roster the organization has been able to match the best in the NBA.
Let’s check the latest picks, NBA news, stats and NBA expert picks for Jazz vs Heat. We’ve plenty of NBA predictions for you to consider.
Former Boston Celtics executive Danny Ainge was hired by Utah back in December of 2021, and immediately started a huge rebuild this past offseason by trading smaller pieces and capital for Royce O’Neal. Ainge has since traded 3 time NBA Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert and 4 time All-Star Donovan Mitchell plus other crucial members for draft picks.
What was left is a squad captained by shooting guard Talen Horton-Tucker, who recorded 37 points in Utah’s 119-111 victory against the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday. The Jazz also have managed to highlight other youngsters such as Lauri Markkanen, who leads the team in scoring and rebounds; and center Walker Kessler who leads the squad in blocks while averaging 8.5 points and 8.1 rebounds. All three of these players signed to Utah thanks to Ainge trades.
This time around is going to be a close matchup, however we believe now with Lowry at full strength the Heat will have the advantage.
