Houston Analysis: Could win Big 12 with the win

The Big 12’s top team is the Houston Cougars. Houston is still a shining star. Since February 3rd, they have not dropped a game versus this Kansas team. The defense has helped them win 8 straight games since then. They moved up to 14-3 in conference action after defeating Oklahoma by a slim margin of 87-85 on Saturday and winning 67-59 away at UCF on Wednesday. With a victory, they will have earned the title of BIG 12 champion, or at least a portion of it. After collecting 25 points on Wednesday, L.J. Cryer has scored more than 20 points in three straight games, demonstrating his continued excellence. The senior guard’s season average has climbed to 15.8 points per game on 41% shooting for the year.

Kansas Analysis: Wants to end on a high note

The Kansas Jayhawks want to wrap up the campaign strong. For a team that was close to the summit of the Big 12 rankings at the beginning of last month, the current run of games has proven underwhelming. 2 of their previous 3 matches have been losses. This includes Saturday’s 82-74 away loss to Baylor. In a commanding 90-68 victory at home against Kansas State on Tuesday, bringing their conference record to 10-7. In the conference, they are ranked 4th. Only one of Kevin McCullar Jr.’s previous 5 games has he scored 20 points. The senior guard is doing exceptionally well this year. In addition to his 19 points on Tuesday, he has averaged 19.1 points a game this season on 46% shooting.
