Game Preview
We have a show at the Moody Center this Wednesday, December 21 when the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns take on the Texas Longhorns at 20:00 ET. The Longhorns are coming off a win over Stanford 72-62 while the Cajuns are coming off a win over McNeese 78-70.
The Longhorns come in with an almost perfect 9-1 record, a very good season for them. They are averaging 80 points per game, well above average. However, they are having problems shooting from the three point line. The offense is led by Marcus Carr with 15 points per game and 2 rebounds, accompanied by Tyrese Hunter with another 12 points and 4 rebounds. The defense is also doing well giving up only 60 points per game, something they managed to maintain in their most recent game against Stanford. In that game Marcus Carr stood out with his 17 points for the win.
Louisiana is not doing too bad either, coming in with the same balance with a 10-1 record, beating Texas. They have a very potent offense led by Jordan Brown with 19 points per game and 7 rebounds, followed by Greg Williams Jr. and Terence Lewis II both with another 13 points. Louisiana is far superior to Texas in three-point shooting, something they will undoubtedly take advantage of to take the score. Their defense allows 69 points per game, a little higher than Texas.
Both teams are doing very well this season, but only one can come out on top. The Cajuns shoot pretty well from three point range compared to Texas but the defense allows more points. Also an important factor is that the Longhorns are good at home. I’m going with the Longhorns in this one.
