(Video) San Jose St vs USC Prediction and Analysis Nov 20, 2024

San Jose St vs USC Game Preview

The college basketball season for this year is still going strong on Wednesday, November 20th. The San Jose State Spartans will be taking on the USC Trojans in a non-conference matchup at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California. The fixture is set to start at 10 pm Eastern Time.

San Jose St Analysis: Underwhelming start to the season

The San Jose State Spartans have had a tough start to the 2024-25 season, winning just 1 out of their first 5 fixtures. Their only win was a solid performance against NAIA Life Pacific, where they triumphed 93-56 during the Rainbow Classic on November 11th. Unfortunately, they faced defeats in their other 4 contests, losing to Western Illinois 59-55, Pacific 80-67, Hawaii 80-69, and UC Santa Barbara 64-59.

  • Interestingly, the Spartans are ranked 7th in the nation for turnover percentage, showing they handle the ball well and with patience.
  • However, they struggle to score, averaging only 103.4 points per 100 possessions, with a shooting percentage of 44.4% on field chances and 25.7% on shots from deep.

SJSU was ahead of UC Santa Barbara 59-58 with only 1 minute left in the 2nd half, but unfortunately, it ended in another letdown for the Spartans. The team managed to shoot 40.7% from the field, hitting 6 out of 23 attempts, while senior guard Josh Uduje stood out with 22 points and 7 boards.

USC Analysis: Looking to bounce back quickly

The USC Trojans just faced their first defeat of the 2024-25 season. They previously secured victories against Chattanooga with a score of 77-51, Idaho State at 75-69, and UT Arlington in a close bout of 98-95. However, they fell to California last Sunday with a final score of 71-66. So far, USC hasn’t played any away fixtures this season.

  • Currently, the Trojans rank 18th in the country for offensive turnover percentage and 43rd for defensive turnover percentage.
  • They manage to score 114.5 points for every 100 possessions while allowing 101.5 points in return.

Even with USC losing their last match, our NCAA basketball spreads today side with them this time around. As their quality in the roster is simply higher than San Jose St.
