The biggest game of Week 0 comes across the world in Dublin, Ireland, yes, you read that right. Northwestern and Nebraska play their season opener in Emerald Isle, for what should be the highest quality game of the opening slate. The Cornhuskers enter this season with high expectations despite a 3-9 season.
Head coach Scott Frost is coaching for his job and needs to get off to a hot start against a still rebuilding Northwestern team that also went 3-9. Nebraska owns the bragging rights in head-to-head competition with nine wins compared to Northwestern’s six.

On the other side, After splitting each of their opening six games to start the 2021 season, Northwestern fell off a proverbial cliff to finish out the year, dropping six straight games and scoring 14 or fewer points in seven of their last eight games as well.
Head coach Pat Fitzgerald will be hoping for a much improved season this year as he welcomes back his top three running backs from last season, but loses out on LB Chris Bergin on defense, a player who led the nation in overall tackles last season. The Wildcats were top 50 in overall pass defense themselves last year, so we could well see a lower-scoring game taking place in Dublin this weekend
