The Baltimore Ravens will be in search of their fourth straight victory when they take on the lowly Carolina Panthers in Week 11. It’s a game the Ravens should win on paper, but never overlook the potential trap game factor.
Former AFC North rival Baker Mayfield will get the start at quarterback for the Panthers following an injury to P.J. Walker. Mayfield was benched earlier in the season after a difficult stretch but will have another opportunity to prove himself this week.
While the Panthers sit at 3-7 as one of the worst teams in the NFL, the Ravens have won three consecutive games and have looked pretty good in the process. Lamar Jackson is 12-0 in the regular season when being a double-digit favorite and he will look to extend that streak this Sunday.
If the Panthers are going to have any success, they’re going to need to find some semblance of consistency at the quarterback position. That could prove challenging against a Ravens pass rush that has come alive in recent weeks.
As long as the Ravens play their brand of defensive-focused football and Jackson does his part, they should win this game. The fact that they’re playing at home and could see the return of Mark Andrews only furthers the notion that Baltimore should emerge victorious.
This is easily Carolina’s most difficult game remaining on their 2022 schedule. Baltimore isn’t the most hospitable of places to play at the best of times, but with the team in strong contention for the AFC North championship and a potential postseason run, it makes it all the more difficult.
The Panthers won’t go down without a fight. Wilks demands nothing but the maximum effort from top to bottom, but Carolina does appear to be severely overmatched when examining both rosters. Predicting anything other than a Baltimore win in Week 11 would be foolish.
