Aaron Rodgers is back with the Packers, and from the looks of it he’s finally staying put until the end of his career, something that surely has brought plenty of joy to Packers fans all around as well as sorrow for fans of any other NFC North teams, like the Minnesota Vikings for example, their first opponents of the 2022 season. But not all is fun and games for Green Bay as they get ready to start the 2022 season with a visit to Minnesota, as Aaron Rodgers will now have to face the season without his number one receiver Davante Adams, who left for the Las Vegas Raiders over the offseason. Will the Vikings be able to capitalize on how Rodgers will have to adjust to his offense post-Adams, or will the Packers show once again why they are the best team in the NFC North?

Is there any way in which the whole Aaron Rodgers/Green Bay Packers soap opera could’ve ended with Rodgers actually leaving Wisconsin? No? Exactly, not a chance in any kind of Bears, Lions or Vikings fantasy. Now that Rodgers is set to finish out his career with his team, and with the Packers actually doing him a favor by drafting some much needed offensive help early on in the draft, this season will once again see Green Bay start off as one of the overall favorites to take the NFC North crown, as well as the NFC crown and even the Super Bowl LVII crown, because yes, when you have a player as good as Rodgers, you can allow yourself to be surrounded by that kind of hype and expectations.
Now, while offensively the Packers should be able to fair off pretty well against Minnesota, the true test for the team will be on defense as they will have to deal with both Dalvin Cook running the ball and Justin Jefferson ready to once again show the NFL why he is one of the best and most explosive receivers around. Simply put, if Green Bay’s defense and secondary don’t find a way to shut down both of those players, it might be an uphill battle for the Packers in Vikings territory.
But wait, shouldn’t the Packers also be worried about what Kirk Cousins can do? Come on. Yes, he’s a decent to good QB, but he is not a pivotal game-changing player, like Aaron Rodgers for example, so no, Green Bay needs to put their focus on Cook and Jefferson on offense, all while trying to give Rodgers enough time to work in the pocket and be able to develop his game at his own pace. By doing that, seeing the Packers take yet another win from Minnesota should be something easy to see coming.
