Game Preview
The Indianapolis Colts and Las Vegas Raiders play on Sunday in a game on the NFL Week 10 schedule. The Colts are going nowhere fast and yet, at 3-5-1 they are a game and a half up on the Las Vegas Raiders. Both of these teams are probably buried, but after this week we will know that they are done for sure.
It looks very bleak for both of these teams. The Colts have fired their offensive coordinator, benched their starting quarterback, and now Frank Reich has been fired. That is the natural progression down the path to a new regime and maybe the Raiders should start down that road. The Colts have been a disaster, but at least they don’t have a quarterback or top receiver, the Raiders have both and Josh McDaniels still can’t win.
Sam Ehlinger got the full Bill Belichick experience in Week 9. The second-year quarterback was sacked nine times and threw for 103 yards on 29 pass attempts with one interception. The offense managed just three points.
Meanwhile, the Raiders were allowing 168 rushing yards and 27 points to the Jacksonville Jaguars. At least Davante Adams finally had a big day. He had 10 catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns. It took Josh McDaniels nine weeks and the Jaguars defense to figure out how to get the ball in the hands of possibly the best wide receiver in football.
Indianapolis looked like a terrible football team on Sunday, offensively at least. The defense has been solid all season and that should continue but it’ll be foolish to expect much out of the offense that was on the field in Week 9, especially considering all that’s unfolded since Sunday’s game. The Raiders are in pole position to take the win, considering that the Colts are a complete disaster.
