The Dallas Cowboys, currently 10-4, will continue their path for revenge after a Week 6 loss. The Philadelphia Eagles, currently 13-1, were the first team in the league to take a playoff spot this season, but have yet to absolutely win the division with their NFC East direct rival still barely 3 games behind.
MVP candidate Jalen Hurts is sadly expected to be out for this match due to a shoulder sprain he got around Week 15 in a match against the Chicago Bears. That technically means 4th year player Gardner Minshew will take the spot for the Eagles this time around.
The Dallas Cowboys’ strong defense will definitely be a challenge for the normally aggressive offense. Linebacker Micah Parsons currently places 4th in the NFL with a total of 13 sacks.
Cowboys QB Dak Prescott will be starting against Philadelphia for the first time this season as he was recently recovering from a thumb injury.
Jalen Hurts’ shoulder injury comes at an opportune moment, but the Eagles are absolutely ahead of the field in the NFC division by 2 games. The Cowboys need a win to stay in the Wild Card group of talent, and going against Eagles backup Gardner Minshew might just be the perfect place to finally wake up from their slumber.
It has been really fun to watch the Eagles dominate this Season, but as mentioned above this game presents a risk. Without Jalen Hurts, the Eagles offense just isn’t good enough, against an aggressive Cowboys defense. Micah Parsons should get the win, but with it comes a statement that he was wrong about Hurts not being the MVP of the league.
Taking into account all factors, we strongly believe the Cowboys defense will be able to suppress the Eagles offense enough to take the win.
