The Steelers will debut rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett. Pickett will make his first start Sunday afternoon against the Bills at Highmark Stadium. The Steelers will look to snap their three-game losing streak, but it won’t be easy.
Pittsburgh is coming off a loss (24-20) at home against the Jets. Michel Trubisky started for Pittsburgh, but Pickett replaced him in the second half. Trubisky racked up 84 total yards and an interception. The rookie Pickett, despite bringing energy to the offensive line, had three interceptions. The Steelers will have to work on this to reduce or limit their turnovers against a defense like the Bills.
The Bills are coming off a surprising win over the Ravens (23-20). Buffalo came back from a 10-point halftime deficit in incredible fashion. The Ravens couldn’t get it done late in the fourth quarter on a questionable fourth down play. Josh Allen did not perform well in the rain, but still produced 283 yards and two TDs. Last week Buffalo had trouble stopping the run, this should be one of their top priorities and even more so against the Steelers starting Kenny Pickett.
Sunday will be a tough game for the Steelers, but head coach Mike Tomlin will have them ready for war. Tomlin has a 50-15 career record between Weeks 5-9. Although some bookmakers say the Steelers won’t win on Sunday. In their three losses this season, the Steelers have lost by an average of 6.3 points per game. Buffalo will get its points with Diggs and Davis finding the end zone. Bookmakers say betting on the Bills’ team total could be the best play for this game.
Harris’ early involvement will be key for the Steelers to get the win this Sunday afternoon in Buffalo. Last week against the Jets, Harris posted a season-high 74 yards on 18 carries. We’ll see how he performs against the Bills’ third ranked run defense.
