Rams vs Cardinals Game Preview
On Sunday, the Los Angeles Rams (0-1) will go to State Farm Stadium in an effort to defeat the Arizona Cardinals (0-1). This article contains the most in depth NFL analysis out there.
Cardinals Analysis: Their defense need to improve
In the season opener versus the Buffalo Bills, the Cardinals offense was impressive, scoring 28 points, but the defense let up 34 points, which allowed the team to win by six points. They led 17-10 at the half, but the defense was unable to put up enough stops in the second half, which resulted in the loss. With 21 of his 31 attempts completed for 162 yards, a single touchdown, and no interceptions, Kyler Murray led the way. In addition, he ended with 57 yards on five carries. The leading receiver, Greg Dortch, finished with 6 carries for 47 yards. They will need greater offensive output from rookie Michael Harrison Jr., who only had one catch for 4 yards. The defense will need to perform better in this game because they had trouble slowing down Josh Allen and the running game.
Rams Analysis: Puka Nacua was placed on IR
When playing the Detroit Lions on Sunday night football, the Rams were competitive, but they ultimately lost in overtime. 34 of the 49 throws that Matthew Stafford completed for 317 yards, a touchdown, and a single interception during his impressive performance. Additionally, Kyren Williams finished with eighteen carries for fifty yards with a touchdown. Cooper Kupp ended with 14 receptions for 110 yards plus a score, proving that the Rams’ wide receivers are unfair. One thing that surprised me was Blake Corum’s lack of touches, as I had assumed he would reduce Williams’ carry numbers. The Rams’ inability to stop the run, particularly in the closing minutes of the game, will need to be addressed if they are to win.
