Both Brentford and Tottenham can brag about having had a season in which while there have been lows, the highs have been more of a common which at the end of it all amounts to a great EPL experience for both squads. As Brentford prepares to welcome Spurs in their home turf, their commanding three game winning streak which includes a smashing 4-1 against Chelsea, a 2-0 win against West Ham and a 2-1 win against Watford will surely be put to the test against Antonio Conte’s Tottenham. Spurs on their side will surely be looking to separate themselves away from London rivals Arsenal as they share the same amount of points but with a goal difference giving the slight advantage and the last qualifying spot for next year’s UCL initial stages to Conte’s team over the Gunners.
If we look at Brentford at the beginning of the year and Brentford right now we could easily be talking about two different teams, all while having the same players and wearing the same jersey. Their start of 2022 was something short of horrible, but ever since they kicked their talents and winning ways into a higher gear, everything seems to be going much better for Thomas Frank’s team. One thing that is definite is that much of this resurgence from the team can be credited to Christian Eriksen and how his return to the fields after almost being sidelined for good from the sport have worked as a perfect light of inspiration for Brentford to pick up the pace and secure their spot in the EPL.
This London team has taken it upon themselves to play without any real fear of who they are facing, with the 4-1 win against Chelsea as a perfect example of said efforts. Now, as the season comes to a near end it’s becoming more and more apparent that Brentford will finish out their season playing the same way, which means that Tottenham should gear up for a very strong and offense-oriented game from Thomas Frank’s players.
Antonio Conte’s Tottenham squad needs a win and they need it badly against Brentford, especially after their fall against Brighton last week. Luck did strike Tottenham as both Arsenal and Manchester United were not able to capitalize in any way from Brighton’s win against the Spurs, but still, Conte and his team cannot count on any more mishaps happening if they wish to continue in their hopes of securing the last qualifying spot for next season’s Champions League tournament. Look for Conte to come out with a very offensive team with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min as his two main offensive weapons at the top.
