To Win Premier League
The Premier League 2022-23 season is set to kick off on 5 August 2022 and we can’t be more excited about it. While a lot of teams have seen changes in their lineups during the off-season, we have a clear idea on which team will be the best one coming into this season.
While Liverpool (+250) was really close to the glory last season, and they will most likely be coming with a vengeance, Man City (-170) has all the tools needed to push back and keep the throne. After dominating the competition last time, it’s not too crazy to assume that Man City will win their third EPL title in a row this season.
Even after a convincing season, Man City has already reinforced its attack for next season, with a deal clinched with Borussia Dortmund to sign Erling Haaland for 60 million euros ($63 million), adding one of Europe’s most exciting young forwards into the squad.
Historically, this will be the first season since 2012–13 not to feature former team captain Fernandinho, who left at the end of the previous season to return to Brazil; and the first since 2014–15 not to feature English forward Raheem Sterling who moved in pre-season to Chelsea.
Man City began pre-season with several key first-team players entering the final years of their contract amidst rumors that they might leave the club for a fee rather than renew. Of these, it seemed the most speculation concerned Gabriel Jesus and his possible transfer after 5 years at City; and Raheem Sterling who was also rumored to be a Real Madrid target
Even if we take all of these changes into account, it’s safe to assume that Man City is the strongest team coming into the 2022-23 Premier League season, and while other teams might try to take them down, it’s going to be an incredibly difficult challenge.
