The results from the first weekend suggest a close matchup, with Cagliari holding off Torino and Inter needing a late goal to win in Milan.
Therefore, Ranieri will try to maintain a tight defense as his side attempts to pull off an upset against a potent Inter squad, and the visitors may need yet another late surge to secure all three points.
Cagliari’s goalless record will be extended if they are unable to find the back of the net, but Ranieri is looking ahead and is not worried. Three points on the road here are crucial for Inzaghi and Inter because they know they cannot afford to lose any early momentum in a title chase.
A tight loss in this game won’t hurt Cagliari too much because of Ranieri’s expertise in the coming months. Gianluca Lapadula, Marco Mancosu, and Mark Rog are still sidelined for Cagliari coach Claudio Ranieri due to injuries. After a successful previous outing, Ranieri is unlikely to make many changes, with Jakub Jankto being a possible exception.
With a healthy roster at his disposal, Inzaghi will likely field the same starting lineup at Cagliari. Martinez’s two goals last weekend were the difference, and the Argentine will continue to spearhead the assault for the away team.
