But will England be good enough to be crowned Fifa World Cup champions? There is still a long way to go and let’s remember that England have not won a World Cup since 1966.
On the other hand, Senegal did not have as good a start as England, losing 2-0 to the Netherlands. However, they managed to regain the confidence of their line-up and their fans after beating World Cup hosts Qatar 3-1. But it was their 2-1 win over Ecuador that secured their qualification to the Round of 16. The last time Senegal achieved this was in 2002.
Will Senegal be able to advance further in this edition of the Fifa World Cup? Personally, I think we still have some interesting things to watch with this team. Let’s remember that they adapted quite well after the unfortunate injury of Sadio Mane, Bayern Munich striker and key player in Senegal’s offense.
While the favorite to take control of this match is England, Senegal has adapted and performed very well so far and I don’t think they will give up so easily.
