Fight Preview
UFC fans are in for a rare treat this weekend as an exceptional UFC event is set to feature veteran welterweight fighters Michael Chiesa and Kevin Holland in a compelling battle inside Salt Lake City’s Delta Center for a 170-pound card that should provide plenty of excitement. Chiesa and Holland both rank within the top ten of their respective divisions and make for an intriguing stylistic matchup which should provide fans with plenty of viewing enjoyment and insight into both men’s skillsets. Chiesa will need to show that he has shaken off any ring rust from his long layoff since last competing against Santiago Ponzinibbio back in April for a knockout victory and move up in rankings within the welterweight division. Chiesa boasts an outstanding wrestling foundation and impressive striker skills. Since joining the UFC, his striking has greatly improved and can quickly dispatch opponents at range. Additionally, his takedowns are strong and submissions easily secured; making Chiesa an all-around formidable competitor capable of competing on main cards with no issues at all. At UFC 287, Kevin Holland defeated Santiago Ponzinibbio, his previous opponent. Santiago was defeated by the trailblazer through KO/TKO in the 3rd round during their fight. Holland is popular with fans due to his precise striking and willingness to engage in combat with anybody. Holland excels as a grappler more so than a striker. He has plenty of experience on the ground and constantly looks to advance into top position for submission wins. Unfortunately, however, his wrestling technique will likely make things difficult against Chiesa on the mat. Concerns have also been expressed over Holland’s performance when he returns. He has struggled against some of the top wrestlers in the welterweight division, such as Marvin Vettori and Derek Brunson, so it will be important that he demonstrates he can compete on the ground against them effectively. Holland is an entertaining fighter to watch and boasts some of the best trash talk in MMA. He loves entertaining crowds, doing whatever is necessary to gain their support. Holland’s unique style works well in the UFC environment and he has become a fan-favorite within the welterweight division. Sign-up at BetUS TODAY and get 125% BONUS. Use the Promo Code BETUSTV125.
